connecting people through music & stories
The Modern Troubadours Project
The Modern Troubadours project is a series of music workshops where we discover local folk stories and true stories and collectively create an original piece of music around these stories. By discovering these stories and creating music together, we can learn about and understand better our own culture and that of others.
These workshops were given in Romania and Zimbabwe in 2012 and in Nepal, France and the Netherlands in 2013, to various groups from schools and orphanages. At the end of the workshop series, the groups meet, perform for each other and perform together at a final concert and have the opportunity to share their stories and experiences.
A Facebook Page (Modern Troubadours) has been created so that the participants from around the world can connect and see each other's performances and therefore learn about new stories and cultures.
